Finished paradise

Het was heel leuk om de mooie kleuren van het water te schilderen!
It was fun to paint the beautiful colours of the water!

Tijd voor nog eens een lanschapje...en ik heb een beetje genoeg van de winter dus dit wordt totaal iets anders!
Olifant-grijs colourfix papier, 30 x 22,5 cm.
De lucht begonnen met violet-blauw.
Time for a landscape again...and I've enough of this cold winter so this will be a different theme...

Dit appeltjes schilderij is af. Finished painting!

Voor de zijde gebruik ik zowel groen-blauw als violet-blauw...
For the silk I use greenish-blue and violet-blue...

Ik begin met de appels: eerst zet ik de kleur met redelijk brede stroken, ik probeer goed naar de foto te kijken om alle schakeringen te ontdekken.

Daarna meng ik het pastel door zachtjes met mijn vingers te wrijven.

Dan moet ik vaak nog weer wat extra kleur bijzetten, weer mengen,...enz
Gelukkig zijn al die laagjes geen probleem voor dit soort papier :)
Als laatste teken ik dan de details, met een 'hoekje' van het pastelkrijtje.
I start with the apples, moving from upper-left to the right. I put on the first colours with broad strokes, and I try to observe the reference-picture very close, to find the colours and shades.
Then I blend the pastel, put more colours on, blend again...etc....
It's good that the many layers are no problem for this kind of paper :)
I put in the details last, using the 'edges' of the soft-pastels.

Appels op zijde/ Apples on silk

Eén van mijn favorite onderwerpen: appeltjes.

Deze prachtige foto zorgt vast voor een schitterend schilderijtje.

Ik ga dit op echt zand-papier schilderen, met de Unisons en Sennelier-pastels.

Het formaat: 23 x 30 cm, om te beginnen heb ik het hele papier blauw geschilderd en het pastel goed uitgewreven (met mijn vingers).

To start I filled the paper with blue and pushed it in the tooth (with my fingers)
